§ 53.015. REQUIRED APPLICATION, METER DEPOSIT AND INITIAL CHARGE.

  • (A) All persons desiring to be supplied with water from the city Waterworks at a property now connected with the mains, must apply in person, or legal representative, at the Waterworks office for water, before using the same.
    (B) Each new customer of the Waterworks shall pay a meter deposit of $25. This deposit is to be held by the city as a guarantee that water bills will be paid on presentation of monthly or quarterly statements of the same, the city to pay interest on all deposits at the rate of 5% per annum. No interest shall be paid for less than 6 months.
    (C) There shall be a charge of $15 for initiation of service at a location where a water meter is not in service. No water shall be turned on to any premises which are indebted to the Waterworks for work done or material furnished, until the indebtedness has been paid, and provided further, that no applicant shall be supplied with water for any purpose whatsoever; who, at the time of application for same, is indebted to the Waterworks for water previously supplied him or her until indebtedness shall be have been paid.
