§ 53.047. EXTENSIONS OF MAINS AND INSTALLING PUBLIC HYDRANTS.

Latest version.
  • (A) On receipt of written instruction from the city, the Waterworks will extend its water mains in graded streets and install fire hydrants, all at its own expense, 1 fire hydrant to be installed, approximately, for every 300 feet of water mains so ordered and extended.
    (B) The Waterworks will extend its main in graded streets, adjoining existing mains, when there is sufficient new business, satisfactorily guaranteed in writing, to give an additional revenue of $50 per annum for a period of 3 years for every 300 feet of mains so extended, in making up the $50 for every 300 feet, the Waterworks will not include any existing business or any premises that can be supplied from existing mains. Under this arrangement the city may transfer fire hydrants from other portions of the city, by paying the actual costs of moving the hydrants and connecting the same to the new mains, and the city shall pay the rental for the hydrants in their new locations instead of in the original locations.
    (C) The Waterworks will also extend its mains into subdivision where satisfactory arrangements can be made with realty companies or owners, who are promoting the sale of real estate, on the basis of a guaranteed return of $17.50 per annum, for a period of 5 years for each 100 feet of main pipe extended.
