§ 73.03. OPERATING VEHICLES ON APPROACH OF EMERGENCY VEHICLE.

  • (A) Authorized emergency vehicles are given the right-of-way over all other vehicles.
    (B) On the approach of any authorized emergency vehicle giving audible signal by bell/horn or siren and/or having its emergency lights flashing, the operator of every other vehicle shall immediately drive the same to a position as near as possible and parallel to the right-hand edge or curb of the highway, clear of any intersection.
    (C) The operator/driver shall stop and remain in that position until the authorized emergency vehicle shall have passed, unless otherwise directed by a Police or Fire Department officer.
    (D) The operator/driver shall not drive the same into any street intersection if Police or Fire Department or other authorized emergency vehicle are approaching the street intersection within 500 feet thereof.
